AMA with the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

A closer look at NIH's unique structure for supporting challenges

By Quinn Slayton · October 30, 2024

At the Challenge and Prize Community Office Hours for October 2024, we held an Ask Me Anything (AMA) with a challenge lead from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Challenge.gov team recently hosted a webinar series on Federal Innovation Through Prize Competitions with NIH. Missed the webinar? View the webinar recording here.

We invited the speaker, Dr. Taylor Gilliland, to Office Hours so members of the Challenge and Prize Community could have a deeper discussion. We discussed NIH’s unique structure for supporting challenges across its various centers and institutes, and how NIH has been a sounding board and resource for other agencies. This conversation led into a discussion about toolkits and resources for new challenge managers.
